BOLGHERI ROSSO
BOLGHERI DOC ROSSO
THE FIRST BOLGHERI ROSSO PRODUCED IN THE TERRITORY, RECEIVING THE DOC RECOGNITION IN 1994. THIS STRAIGHTFORWARD LABEL WAS CREATED TO PROMOTE THE NAME OF THE APPELLATION, SEEKING TO ENCAPSULATE THE TYPICAL EXPRESSIONS OF AN EVERYDAY WINE FROM THE AREA OF ORIGIN. THE BLEND CONSISTS OF ALL THE GRAPE VARIETIES PRESENT: MERLOT, CABERNET FRANC, CABERNET SAUVIGNON, PETIT VERDOT, AND THE TRADEMARK SANGIOVESE.
These come from a selection of the younger vines and a first harvest of the older ones. Fermentation takes place in steel vats, where part of the wine undergoes aging, while another portion continues for 8 months in barriques. The result is an easyto- drink wine, with a distinct flavor and pronounced character, in which Bolgheri’s Mediterranean expression is supported by the typical freshness of the Grattamacco hills.
